PRICELESS ADVICE FOR ERASMUS STUDENTS
1. From the airport, you need to get a train to go to Palermo. You find it downstairs the arrivals of the airport and it costs 5 € (Around 50 minutes to get to Palermo.
2. A tutor can help you during your Erasmus experience. They will help you in many different ways, picking you up at the station, showing you the city, helping you to buy a phone-card, taking you
to the International office, but especially they will help you to look for a flat.
3. Prices for the renting in Palermo are around 200/250 € for a single room, 150/160 for a bed in double room.
Sometimes owners try to get advantage of the foreign people. So that’s why it’s good you can go to look for a flat with a local person who knows if someone is trying to cheat on you.
4. Buying a telephone card is very important! We always advice to get the WIND, to create a net of the same companies. There are amazing offers with wind, you pay only 2 € per day for 4,000
messages per month and 6 € for 200 minutes of calls. A tutor usually helps you to get a WIND SIM card.
5. It’s important you go as soon as possible to the International office for the registration. Only with the registration you will be a real Erasmus student in Palermo.
The international office is in PIAZZA MARINA, in the city-center of Palermo. It’s open every morning for the foreign students from Monday to Thursday. Even though you go there after a couple of
days it is not a big deal, but try to go as soon as possible anyway.
6. We will organize loads of activities and meeting especially in the first month. Try to come to the things we organize, so you can get in touch with a lot of different people from
everywhere.
7 We organize parties weekly with special offers for Erasmus students; if you like dancing and having fun, you are more than welcome to join every activity.
8. We organize trips every now and then…if you wanna discover Sicily or travelling together with other students, obviously you are welcome to join. Moreover we try to make the prices of the trips
as cheap as possible, because we are a group of students and for the students and we don’t want you spend a lot of money!
9. Study sometimes, but remember this is not the first goal of the Erasmus!
Erasmus is an exchange of experience, mix of cultures and something you will never forget! So, please don’t stay home all the time!!!

12. You can inform us when you are planning to come, so we can get a tutor for you who will help you since the beginning of your experience here.
